JOB SUMMARY
The Food Service Manager is a hands-on position responsible for assisting the Management team in upholding the service standards and operations of Odessa Country Club while maintaining the highest level of member and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Trains new service staff.
- Attends pre-shift line-up to receive daily information.
- Assures that local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to club standards.
- Greets members and guests.
- Suggests and describes available appetizers, entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages, and wines to members and guests.
- Properly communicates with management on issues with food and/or service.
- Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.
- Assures that pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks are completed as required.
- Assists with the service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed.
- Assists with table clearing and re-setting as needed.
- Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
- May serve as the club’s opening or closing manager or manager on duty.
- Assists in dining room inventory assessments.
- Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the Executive Chef.
- Other duties as deemed necessary to the position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of Food and Beverage experience
- Private club experience is highly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Must be able to move about the dining room to service guests
- Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of items up to 50 lbs.
