Title: Registered Behavior Technician
Division: Teaching and Learning

Salary: Level 31 ($29.97-$35.80)
Hours/Days: 8 hours/ 200 days
Location: Olympic Peninsula
JOB PURPOSE: Implement intervention plans and behavioral support programs by providing 1:1 behavioral intervention services to children with special needs as directed by the Behavior Specialist.
Responsibilities
Assist the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming in 1:1 and small group settings.
Collect data on all programming and write progress notes; complete daily documentation.
Advise and consult with other agency personnel; cooperate with management team members.
Establish and maintain interventionist relationships as a reinforcing entity.
Prompt safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction and problem-solving skills.
Implement prompts appropriately to promote successful and independent responding.
Increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforces (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations).
Accurately collect behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event and interval-based recording.
Follow the intervention plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeking out appropriate consultation.
Conduct reassessments as appropriate.
Utilize safe and respectful de-escalation techniques.
Present professional development and staff training as assigned.
Participate with all other Individualized Education Program team members and other school staff for planning.
Attend all staff meetings and student meetings as required.
Observe confidentiality and safeguard all student related information.
Report any student incidents/variances or complaints to OESD Behavior Specialist immediately.
Maintain a clean and neat work environment.
Uphold and assist in enforcing administrative regulations and board policy and program policies and procedures.
Participate in professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school graduation or equivalent.
Registered Behavior Technician certification.
Valid Restraint Certification.
Training in First Aid and CPR and maintain certification.
Certification in de-escalation methodology.
Experience with students with disabilities desired.
Experience with progress monitoring and data collection systems desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to establish an excellent rapport with students with special needs, families, therapists and other district and agency staff.
Ability to apply sound judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to organize and coordinate activities.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to carry out intervention plans and behavior support plans as directed by Behavior Specialist
Ability to use a computer.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work as a team member with a variety of people in a multicultural and diverse socio-economic setting.
Ability to travel; reliable transportation; appropriate auto insurance.
Physical Requirements
