What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at Ogden-Weber Technical College?
Position Summary
The Development Coordinator is a key member of the College Advancement team and contributes to the foundation’s mission of supporting students by raising funds to invest in student success programs. The coordinator is responsible for college and foundation grant writing and assisting with the planning and execution of foundation events, fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, foundation initiatives and alum association activities.
Incumbent reports to the Associate Vice President for College Advancement.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the college grant writer, coordinating research, writing, implementation and reporting for all college and foundation grant proposals
- Assist with the planning and execution of foundation events, including the annual Student Success Golf Tournament and Donor Appreciation Breakfast.
- Assist with communication, cultivation and stewardship of donors, including monthly email newsletters and collection of scholarship recipient thank you letters.
- Help implement fundraising campaigns, including the foundation’s employee and board member campaign, A Time of Giving.
- Aid the Foundation Board of Trustees in board development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator to execute alum association activities and logistics.
- It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by administration.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, education, marketing, business, or related field.
- Experience organizing and managing major projects and working effectively with a team.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Successful grant writing and other fundraising experience at a post-secondary institution or nonprofit organization.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships of trust with internal and external partners.
- Ability to critically analyze processes and enhance efficiency/effectiveness.
- Ability to work under pressure with high expectations and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Proficient in business computer software applications with expertise in Microsoft Office and standard accounting procedures.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is a combination of sitting comfortably at a desk and physical exertion.
- Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 20 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
- Requires ability to drive an automobile.
