Job Description
Ohio University College of Business invites applications for the position of Assistant Event Director in the Dean’s Office. The position is based on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio. This position is set to begin September 1, 2023, but the start date is flexible.
Under the direction of the Director of Events, the Assistant Event Director for the College of Business manages the development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all major events within the College. This position will establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, University partners, program directors, professional staff and faculty, and other personnel.
Primary Accountabilities
Execute, manage, and oversee assigned college events including but not limited to program content, themes, schedules, logistics, budgets, staff, vendors, promotional items, and event materials for advisory board meetings, alumni receptions, recruitment events, executive programs, career management fairs, speaker series, graduate residencies, special events, and all other events as required.
Manage lines of support for events including supervision and scheduling of student staff, updating and communicating event budgets, making payments, reconciling expenses. Develops, analyzes, and administers event budgets for a large number of department accounts.
Act as a resource person/liaison between and among faculty, students, professional staff, the University community, and members of relevant partner organizations and the public. Develop resources for faculty and staff for effective planning and implementation (maintaining venue list, staying informed of changing University policies in relation to events, including catering, transportation, venues, etc.).
Assists in the development, design, and execution of marketing and promotional collateral as well as assets for hybrid and virtual events including some graphic design, updates to websites, video editing, and working within platforms including but not limited to Teams, Zoom, and mobile apps.
