The Enterprise Architect provides technical thought leadership in envisioning and delivering world class technology solutions that are global, scalable, adaptable, secure, cost effective, and enable the business and IT strategy. They will utilize their knowledge of technology products, services, and trends to ensure the alignment of business needs and various IT functions. The EA will assist with determining the future technology needs and lead creation of a roadmap to deliver and realize the vision and the associated business benefits. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the technology environment, including infrastructure, software, data, and integration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Understands and leverages Vitamix technology toolbox to achieve business strategy.
• Evaluates projects from technical perspective, ensuring alignment with business needs, IT roadmap, architecture and security standards, internal controls, and IT methodology.
• Develops and maintains a comprehensive view of Vitamix’s business.
• Drives the creation of a holistic view of IT systems architecture, information flow, and technology assets, based on business strategy.
• Produces multiple IT architecture deliverables which are tailored to and easily understandable by multiple stakeholders and audiences.
• Creates and embeds the enterprise architecture practice and processes into Vitamix IT.
• Ensures system designs and implementation meet architecture quality standards.
• Ensures solutions improve overall information flow, reduce cost to serve whenever possible, and do not duplicate existing functionality or diverge from business and IT strategies.
• Creates a contemporary technology culture and elevates the thinking of Vitamix technologists. Instills a focus on quality and reuse in all IT solutions.
• Collaborates with all stakeholders to problem solve and meet complex business needs.
• Champions a security mindset and elevates the overall security competency of both IT and Vitamix as a whole.
• Assesses and manages risks associated with business objectives to ensure alignment with Vitamix’s appetite for risk.
• Manages risk of information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies.
• Assists in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of Information Technology within the enterprise.
• Applies continuous learning to evaluate new innovations and technologies in order to improve work productivity, scalability, and accuracy.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in architecture tools such as diagramming tools
• Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Functional programming
• Understanding of database design concepts and database implementations, including analytics and business insights
• Understanding of ecommerce systems
• Understanding of marketing operations systems
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure architectures
• Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to broadly influence and effectively forge partnerships both internally and externally
• Knowledge of software development life cycle processes and converged infrastructure, including hands-on experience
• Experience with automated testing tools and best practices in DevOps
• Demonstrated technical leadership, both detail and big picture thinking (ability to see/understand how parts interact with the whole)

• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
• Knowledge of the business for which the enterprise architecture is being developed
• Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand

• Keep abreast of current technology and industry trends by reviewing industry related periodicals and attending seminars and related training
• Attend vendor conferences focusing on further technology and business improvements
• 10 years of experience in enterprise application development, infrastructure engineering, or information management
• 2 years of architect level experience
• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or other tech related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
