Job Description Summary: This position works under the direction of a registered pharmacist to interpret, obtain, prepare/compound, label, and distribute pharmacy products for patient use while taking into consideration patient age and any other relevant information. They document the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy. Minimum Qualifications: High School or GED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Individual must have a high school diploma, GED or foreign school diploma equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma; OR participating in a Board-approved high school training program Individual must be at least 18 years of age; OR at least 17 years of age and participating in a Board-approved high school training program Those who are 17, must provide a work permit Individual must be registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee (or immediately eligible for registration) Individual will meet the requirements for eligibility to take the PTCB or ExCPT board certification exam within 6 months of hire. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of hospital/retail pharmacy operations, medical terminology, various drug names.
