Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of HR Generalist supporting the HR Director, Global Operations. Position location: 7701-C South Cooper Street, Arlington, Texas 76001.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide professional level support of the HR function to the HR Director, Global Operations. Conduct assignments in HR functional areas that may include but not limited to employment, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and human resource administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the HR Director, Global Operations with projects or initiatives.
  • Partner with HR team members in the research, development and implementation of Human Resources projects, policies, and processes to standardize where possible and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruiting across the company. Recruits, interviews, and screens applicants to fill open positions as needed. Attends job fairs. Fully leverages recruiting software to manage the open positions process from opening the requisition through hiring. Conducts new hire orientation.
  • Approach processes/tasks with a focus on standardization and continuous improvement. Make recommendations when opportunities arise.
  • Conduct exit interview or receives exit interview information; analyze aggregate information to determine appropriate opportunities for improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain current position descriptions for positions by creating and updating as needed.
  • Develop compensation benchmarking based on internal and external market pricing.
  • Manage workflows, requisitions, and offers within the HRIS system related to recruiting and employment transactions.
  • Prepare presentations as needed.
  • Assist in the training, and development of HR Global Operations staff.
  • Primary owner of the enterprise-wide company newsletter. Coordinates and collects articles.
  • Responsible for assigned projects supporting the Global Operations group.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs.
  • Conduct and resolve workplace investigations and recommend corrective action if/when appropriate.
  • Actively engage in coaching and counseling with managers and employees, as needed.
  • Deliver training programs for employees and managers, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, performance management, conflict skills, and interviewing techniques.
  • Travel 10% - 20% of time, may be higher during peak recruiting times.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management or equivalent credentials/experience
  • Professional certification (PHR) a plus.
  • Three or more years of generalist experience in manufacturing or energy-related environment.
  • Working knowledge of State and US Federal labor laws.
  • Establishes partnerships across the organization and collaborates well with a diverse or multidisciplinary group to achieve a common goal.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient using HRIS systems. Experience using UltiPro preferred.
  • Experience using time keeping systems. Experience using Kronos preferred.
  • Experience using Business Intelligence for reporting or willingness to learn.
  • Must establish and maintain a high level of credibility and respect.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organization and presentation skills; strong initiative and meticulous.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and a willingness to succeed.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Use of a computer, telephone, and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands
  • Occasional use of stairs and/or elevator
  • Occasional bending, stooping, carrying
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Occasional in-town travel.
  • Out-of-town or overnight travel as needed.
