Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Process Control Technician for our Tulsa, Oklahoma location in our organization, the Process Control Technician has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide technical support to the engineering and manufacturing departments. Identify, develop, and implement process improvements across all departments through procedures, design, and equipment including but not limited to lean practices, PLC programming, data analytics, and value stream mapping. Help ensure that Oil States produces quality products that meet or exceed customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and assist with the development of case studies, test jobs, and capital equipment justifications to enhance business performance.
  • Help generate process plans based upon operating procedures and product requirements.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot disruptions in manufacturing.
  • Ensure all new processes and testing efforts are properly communicated, documented, and sustained.
  • Provide instruction and training as needed to subordinate and production personnel.
  • Assist in the use of automation where possible, Cause and Effect Analysis, and Total Quality Management
  • Assist with Kanban and/or Kaizen process when needed.
  • Mentor team members with lesser experience.
  • Clearly organize project updates and prepare written test reports when needed.
  • Participate in mold design reviews or other design for manufacturing opportunities as required
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor and/or department manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma with 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing OR Technical Degree with possibly less experience
  • Understanding of LEAN Principles and MFG process
  • Intermediate familiarity with hydraulic power and control systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of material proprieties and machine shop fabrication practices.
  • Ability to interpret and describe technical information.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Knowledge of plastic and/or rubber compression molding is a plus.
  • Comprehensive computer skills such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communicator
  • Commitment to safety

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing
  • Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, occasionally working outside in extreme temperatures, and in confined or restricted areas.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

  • This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive Position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
