. The Real Estate Cashier I is responsible for greeting customers and accepting payments received for land records transactions. Activities in this job require a high level of attention to detail and the ability to reconcile cash daily.
Job Functions include:

- Open drawer till and prepare cash count sheet. Each cashier is responsible for their own cash drawers.
- Perform cash transactions and ensure cash is accurately balanced at the end of the day.
- Balance cash drawer 4 times a day according to policy and procedures.
- Prepare daily deposits from all cashiers and turn in Bank Deposit report to Accounts Receivable.
- Review and verify all documents submitted for recording by mail and electronically to insure they meet all Real Estate filing requirements.
- Scan and record all documents, assigning correct document type and collecting appropriate fees.
- Provides correct/accurate information and copies to the public regarding recorded documents.
- Generates copies for walk-ins and mail requests.
- Index and verify documents when time permits.
- Work up mail for recording. Prepare rejection letters when needed.
- Return recorded instruments to customers.
- Run checklist and verify amounts and check numbers.
- Maintains regular attendance at work and is consistently on time.
- Must be able to be present at designated work site minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
1-2 years of general office/customer service experience and basic knowledge of receiving payments and transactions.

Education Required
HS diploma required; associate’s degree or specialized training is preferred, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
