Universal Banker Job Description:
General Summary: To assist Members with their financial transactions involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Assist Members with opening new relationships/accounts with Oklahoma Educators Credit Union (OECU). Responsible for all phases of the loan cycle, including initial member contacts, analysis and processing of loan application. Contribute directly to the achievement of sales goals by recognizing opportunities to sell and cross-sell products/services. Develop new business and expand member relationship by conducting outside market visits. The Universal Banker will not be assigned to just one specific branch location but will float to the branch or department where their skills are needed on any specific day or time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
· Float to any OECU Branch or Department where your skills are needed as directed by the Regional Sales and Service Manager
· Contribute to the OECU sales goals by selling products/services to new and existing members by identifying problems, needs and opportunities.
· Handle member transaction quickly, accurately and efficiently. This includes teller transactions and opening new accounts. Adjusting speed to accommodate traffic flow.
· Handle the entire loan processing cycle; gaining experience evaluating loan applications, performing risk analysis and underwriting, making credit recommendations and administering loan closing.
· Provide exceptional Member Service
· Generate leads via cold calling and follow-up calls to current and past members. Participate in outside market visits.
· Maintain in depth knowledge of OECU products / services, policy and procedures.
· Cross-train as needed to allow you to assist in all Lending/Operation areas of the credit union.
Equivalent Education and or Experience Preferred:
· A High School education / GED or equivalent experience in banking
· Must be able to work independently and at the same time foster teamwork.
· Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Experience in cash handling activities
· Well developed sells, cross-selling and referral skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
· Able to develop action plans and accomplish goals
· Strong decision making and problem solving skills
· Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
· Solid work ethic, integrity and extremely self –motivated
· Attention to detail is essential
· Flexibility, this position will work in different branches/departments instead of a designated branch
· Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
