Summary

The Admissions Nurse arranges the efficient and orderly admission of patients to the transitional care setting. Ensures that the patient’s information is collected, entered into computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer. Distributes appropriate information to all ancillary departments. Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN program. Current RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska
  • Prior experience with admissions in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic computer knowledge and operate vital sign monitoring devices and IV delivery pumps
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts to perform dosage calculations necessary to calculate proper dose of medication needing administered to patients.
  • Able to define problems, collect data and deal with stressful situations in a tactful professional manner.
  • Work well with others.
