Description: Seeking a Junior or Senior in college to work upwards of 30 hours a week as a part time Logistics Assistant.
Location: Canton Michigan
Logistics Assistant Purpose: Introduction into the Construction industry through supporting the Aggregate and Asphalt Logistics Departments.
Logistics Assistant Duties:
- Work directly with the aggregate and asphalt dispatch groups to assist with daily needs.
- Receive customer orders and process orders through the dispatch team.
- Responds promptly to customer needs; solicit customer feedback to improve service; meets commitments.
- Interact with customers and vendors through calls, text messages and email.
- Communicate daily changes supplied by customers, vendors, and management to all necessary parties to ensure proper order completion and documentation.
- Track owned trailer status loops throughout day and redirect as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior seeking a degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration degree.
- Highly organized, able to manage time with constantly changing priorities, reporting and documentation skills, supports innovation and process improvement, MS Office Suite proficient.
- Comfort and familiarity with technology.
Requirements:
- Customer focused attitude
- Maintain a high level of support to the rest of the logistics group.
- Ability to communicate within a team setting.
- Willingness to learn
