Overview:
As a CAD IV Operator, you will play a critical role in utilizing advanced computer-aided design software and technologies to create, modify, and optimize technical drawings, plans, and schematics for various projects. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and designers to translate concepts and ideas into detailed and accurate digital representations.
Primary Responsibilities:- Work with project team to develop working drawings and sketches for task orders.
- Serves as a resource person to Project managers. Provide guidance in the design of construction projects.
- Assist government staff in adjusting current drawings and assist in recommending changes based on their understanding and knowledge of the project.
- Design and draft CAD drawings, develop and maintain customization of CAD templates and layering standards.
- Follow project schedules, work closely with government project managers, and project engineers to assist with development of project packages.
- Develop and review Architecture/engineering(NE) service packages, plans, and specification for construction projects.
- Maintain Master construction specification and drawing, maintain Master Life Safety Drawings.
- Utilize advanced CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs, to create, modify, and review technical drawings and 3D models.
- Organize, back-up, retrieve, and archive project drawing files.
- Create as-built drawings from field markups.
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Education and/or Experience:- Must have real-world experience with planning and drawing on a wide range of products.
- Minimum 6 months experience with Computer Aid Designed (CAD) programming over the past 5 years.
- Experience in task order contracting is desired.
- Proven experience as a CAD Operator with expertise in CAD software, and a strong understanding of federal government regulations and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in technical drawings, with an understanding of government-specific requirements.
- Knowledge of federal government contracting and procurement procedures.
- Must have solid knowledge in steel, wood, concrete, and masonry construction.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access, and E-mail business software.
- Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
