POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Associate is a key member of the Human Resource and Admin team. Responsibilities include job posting and applicant correspondence, employee benefits enrollment, employee onboarding, wellness, and employee communication efforts including our employee newsletter, training tracking and scheduling and serving as a proactive point of contact for employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Hiring Duties:
- Updates and maintains job descriptions.
- Manages and maintains job postings.
- Conducts applicant tracking and correspondence; administers prescreening tools and background checks.
- Conducts initial screenings of applicants by utilizing assessment tools, manager/role requirements and initial interviews when needed.
- Serves as a representative of the winery at job fairs and recruiting events.
- Works with hiring managers to schedule interviews/review materials.
- Handles reference checks for non-managerial level hires.
- Works with HR Director to send out PT and line-staff job offers. Coordinates start times with HR/Admin/Managers.
Employee Benefits and Reporting Duties:
- Performs administrative tasks associated with employee records and benefit plans.
- Handles all new and exiting employee paperwork.
- Manages all elective employee benefits (medical, dental & vision insurance, and wellness), including enrollment paperwork, open enrollment, communication of policy and premium changes, COBRA, and serving as a resource for staff.
- Manages 401(k) correspondence with plan participants including eligibility, enrollment, changes to deferrals and account management.
- Serves as a contact for Workers Compensation incident reporting/claims management.
- Maintains records and postings for all necessary state and federal agencies including OSHA and Department of Workforce Development.
- Assists with maintenance of necessary HR records including personnel files.
Onboarding, Orientation and Training Duties:
- Creates custom welcome packages for new employees.
- Assists with employee onboarding and orientation.
- Schedules 90-day check ins for new employees.
- Conducts PT Exit surveys and FT-PT transition surveys.
- Works with Department Heads to coordinate and schedule required trainings.
- Maintains master tracking records for employee training.
HR and Administrative Duties:
- Creates monthly employee newsletter, The Grapevine. Updates Workjam employee engagement accounts, ADP dashboard and physical bulletin boards.
- Serves as a face for HR at Oliver Winery- answer employee questions and refer to HR Director when needed.
- Administers and maintains Live Well wellness program.
- Files and digitizes assorted HR and Administrative paperwork.
- Maintains data needed for Microsoft BI dashboards
- Assists in the planning and preparation of employee meetings and events.
- Serves as a member of the Safety committee and take meeting minutes.
- Serves as a member of the Involvement/Engagement committee.
- Assists Executive team with special projects on an as needed basis.
- Assists with helping customers when needed by taking phone calls and phone orders.
- Additional duties, as assigned by Management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- 2-3 years of HR-related experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal relations skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Due to the nature of our business, must be over 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position will have to spend long hours sitting. There may be visual or ergonomic strain due to computer use. It also requires extended periods of concentration and focus. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
TYPICAL SCHEDULE: Position is full time, hourly. Schedule is Monday-Friday during normal business hours 8am-5pm. Occasional weekend work may be needed on a seasonal basis.
FLSA Classification: Full-time, non-exempt.
