About us

Olivero is a new neighborhood kitchen and bar located in Wilmington, NC from James Beard Nominated Chef Sunny Gerhart of St. Roch Fine Oysters & Bar in Raleigh, NC.

Olivero is a concept inspired by family, rooted in flavor, and crafted in Wilmington. We are looking to hone our craft through proper techniques while creating handmade and delicious food and cocktails with thoughtful and hospitable service to match.

We craft menus that celebrate the food of Italy and Spain through a New Orleans and North Carolina lens. Handmade pastas, wood fired grill and a focus on local and seasonal vegetables, seafood, and meats with a curated cocktail and wine menu.

Olivero Service Manager

This downtown Wilmington restaurant is looking for a FOH leader to join our team. We need folks with previous restaurant management experience. Upscale casual settings and wine experience preferred. We offer a chef-owned and centered restaurant, focused on growing the team. Perks include discounted food and beverages, a chance to learn from the ground up, and really make it your own.   • Service – hire and train FOH staff to provide a consistent, elevated dining experience, maintain high standards for speed of service, hospitality, and guest experience.
  • Reservations – Experience with major reservation systems on the front and back end (ie: Resy/OpenTable/Tock), ability to maximize seating capacity, accommodate regular and VIP clientele, maximize capacity during both peak and non-peak business periods
  • Bar operations – purchasing, pricing, menu development, inventory, cleanliness, staff training, comprehensive knowledge of wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Manage repairs and maintenance for the restaurant, develop and maintain vendor relations for preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment.
  • Partner with Chef/Owner in identifying areas to improve operational efficiency, generate new revenue streams, and increase accountability and motivate performance for FOH and BOH employees.
  • Managers should be directly involved with guest experience and staff management, while also possessing strong leadership skills and a high level of comfort delegating tasks to improve restaurant efficiency.
  • Build a culture of growth opportunity for junior management and service staff, identifying key individuals and providing them with feedback, coaching, and opportunities to expand their individual talents and improve their contributions to the restaurant.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in restaurant management
- Strong knowledge of food service management principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in using Toast POS or similar restaurant management software
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
