This is a Temporary Opening. The approximate duration of the position will be June 2024 – October 2024. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Job Summary:
The HR Assistant is the primary contact person for employees contacting the Human Resources (HR) department. The HR Assistant will help employees navigate whom to contact to reach the most appropriate party. This position will assist the HR department with daily functions and seasonal projects. This position will also be responsible for providing general administrative duties to other departments as needed.

Essential Job Duties:
- Assists in maintaining agency conference room Outlook room scheduler and calendar.
- Sort and distribute agency mail daily. Process outgoing, return receipt, certified and special delivery mail which may include UPSP, Fed Ex, etc. on a daily basis.
- Reserve meeting rooms for all employee orientations, TCI, SCIP, Learn to Lead, annual CPR training at least 3 months in advance.
- Assemble all new hire orientation folders and update content as needed.
- Enter and submit requisitions to be paid for HR department.
- Update and enter information into agency databases.
- Takes employee pictures and assigns CASCO security access levels in system for new hires and changes to employee security levels as requested by supervisors. Prints badges for new hires as well as replacement badges.
- Provide other administrative support such as ordering supplies, food, distribution OLV Human Services apparel, copying, shredding, scanning, filing, etc. to the HR department as requested.
- Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor.

- Detail orientation with numerical and keyboarding accuracy
- Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Must be able to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion and follow instructions given, carry out daily and weekly routines.
- High School diploma or G.E.D with at least 3 years working in an administrative or similar experience
- Associates/Bachelors with some experience working in an administrative or similar experience
- Valid NYS Driver’s license
