POSITION PURPOSE:

The Great Rivers Crisis Services Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, consultation, guidance and assistance to the Crisis Services team. The Great Rivers Crisis Services Supervisor will interpret regulations and guidelines, provide technical review of all cases and paperwork, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the team.

Crisis Services Clinicians provide crisis intervention services for Thurston and Mason counties. Crisis Stabilization Peer Specialists will provide crisis stabilization services for Thurston and Mason counties. DCR’s will provide ITA services for a 7-county regional area to include: Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Thurston, and Wahkiakum counties.

This position reports to the Crisis Services Manager.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Great Rivers DCR Team, provide back up support to admin filing legal paperwork. Crisis Services team, consisting of DCR’s, Crisis Services Clinicians (BA and MHP), and Crisis Stabilization Peer Specialists; (this is secondary support for the TM office) determine work schedule and assignments to ensure full coverage of five county regional area. In charge of GR schedule for the team.
  • Provide technical oversight, case consultation, supervision, trouble shooting and problem resolution.
  • Interpret procedural guidelines for staff and provide assistance and direction to DCR’s, Crisis Services Clinicians, and Crisis Stabilization Peer Specialists concerning technical work. (This is all secondary support for TM office)
  • Train, supervise and evaluate staff performance; provide coaching, counseling and corrective action for performance issues.
  • Review cases and legal paperwork for proper documentation, appropriate decision making and quality of work; conduct quality assurance reviews; develop service protocols.
  • Demonstrate the OHRS mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides support to other agency clinicians in the form of consultation and assistance with joint outreach.
  • May be required to respond to referrals as a DCR (see job descriptions).
  • May be required to work with elected officials, OHRS leadership, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Providing training and education as requested to stakeholders, community partners and elected officials.
  • Have regular meetings with GR BHO and other crisis team leadership on a monthly basis to ensure communication stays open with all parties.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences.
  • Meets WA state qualifications to be a Mental Health Professional.
  • Qualifies as an Agency Affiliated Counselor or be licensed in the state by the WA Department of Health as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or BSN/RN.
  • Qualifies as a Designated Crisis Responder.
  • At least two years of experience in direct treatment of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons.
  • Valid WA State Driver’s license, proof of insurance and availability of a vehicle is required
  • Must pass criminal background clearances and excluded party sanctions.

Preferred:

  • Three (3) years experience providing crisis intervention services
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional

  • Provide technical assistance and education to families, providers and local agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups regarding complex or controversial public policy issues or service as well as establish and maintain effective working relations with elected officials, staff and the community.
  • Ability to use the principles of recovery and person-centered treatment within the context of involuntary treatment assessment.
  • Ability to work in high stress, high demand environment while communicating clearly and effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to write clear and concise petitions, reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and respectfully manage differences, opposing perspectives, opinions, and interests.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to conceptualize and implement creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of RCW 71.05 and 71.34.
  • Promote and champion the values of partnership, teamwork, compassion and integrity in all dealings within and outside of OHRS.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Primarily works in the community including jails, inpatient facilities, residential facilities, individual’s homes, and in an office environment.
  • Service responsibilities require on-call availability at certain times, including availability during normal business hours and after hours/weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Regular use of fleet vehicles and/or personal vehicle required for service in 7-county regional area.
  • Minimal physical exertion is required. May be required to lift or move boxes/equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.


Salary Range: $92,352 - $114,631 per year based on education, experience, and parity within the organization.
