Job Summary:
Serves as data gathering and analysis lead in procurement/product development. Assists Senior Category Manager with the information needed on a regular and semi-regular basis to support the formation of category strategies. Additionally, supports product development team with content development, creative asset management, and product audits.
Responsibilities & Job Duties:
Leads data gathering efforts for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting needs, including but not limited to: weekly category selling analysis, protein selling analysis, total company margin reporting, and quarterly category analysis
Supports data gathering with specific and actionable recommendations, working with Senior Category Manager
Supports new and reformulated product development process by assisting with content development, working with creative to set up and shepherd jobs through the creative process, and working with supplier partners to gather key information for new and reformulated items
Assists and supports product audits with specific regard to copy and product claims
Partners with procurement to monitor inventory and make decisions on necessary changes based on inventory position and flow
Conducts market specific assessments of competitors, allowing us to better understand competitive position, offerings, and pricing and promotional strategies
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
4- year college degree or equivalent in related fields Business, Marketing, Finance or Supply Chain
3-4 years' related experience across Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Category Management/Insights/Analytics preferred
Ability to create intuitive views of complex data sourced from various business systems
Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools
Demonstrated expertise in category management, merchandise planning, or other relevant experience
Strongly skilled in analyzing data to identify business trends and their effects on category
Must have the ability to demonstrate top and bottom line achievement
Strong planning, prioritizing, time-management skills and ability to make sound decisions
Skilled in analyzing data to determine sales and inventory trends and opportunities
Effective verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working with and influencing all levels of management
