Join our culinary team at the Omni Tempe Hotel as a Sous Chef in our premier restaurant, Neighborhood Services. Our 4-star upscale hotel is home to this exceptional dining venue, offering a unique blend of elevated American cuisine. With a focus on hearty, from-scratch recipes, our menu is a tasteful fusion of Southern, American comfort, and local Arizona flavors. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead our PM shift, guiding a team of skilled cooks in delivering an exquisite dining experience to our guests.
- Quality Control: Uphold high standards of food quality and hygiene, adhering to safety regulations and hotel policies. Regularly inspect dishes before they reach the customer to ensure each plate is a representation of our brand's commitment to excellence.
- Staff Management and Training: Mentor and train kitchen staff, providing feedback and guidance to enhance skills and performance. Manage staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, storage, and efficient use of kitchen ingredients and supplies. Work closely with vendors to ensure the best quality products are used.
- Customer Satisfaction: Address and resolve any issues related to food quality or service, ensuring a delightful dining experience for all guests.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and restaurant management team to align culinary operations with the overall objectives of the hotel and restaurant.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned by food & beverage leadership.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a culinary setting, preferably in a hotel restaurant environment.
- A passion for creating and executing elevated American cuisine, with a particular interest in Southern, comfort, and Arizona-influenced dishes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of leading a team effectively through busy service periods.
- Flexibility in schedule, able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional kitchen experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Creative culinary skills, with a keen eye for presentation and detail.
