What are the responsibilities and job description for the Set-up Person position at OmniMax New Logo?
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order):
- Preform set-up and changeovers to shear, blank, piece and/or form aluminum and or galvanized steel in coiled strips, automatically or hand fed through simple or muti- stage dies.
- Select die sets or punch and die members for the job and replace removable sections as necessitated by individual job requirements.
- Place die set or punch and die members in the press and align accordingly.
- Check set-up to ensure tightness of bolts.
- Adjust all safety devices.
- Load dies using crane or other material handling equipment.
- Work from complicated drawings, route sheets, and specifications.
- Use adjustable measure instruments and templates (scale, calipers, micrometers) to maintain close tolerance.
- Make minor adjustments and repairs.
- Detect and report die reconditioning requirements, defective materials, faulty operaton and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Judgment is required to plan, perform and make decisions on the set-up and operational sequence within limitations of established methods and procedures.
- Responsible for setting up assisting and instructing 1 or 2 persons.
- Receive direction from Supervisors or Tool and Die Lead Person.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow all of the prescribes safety rules.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully.
Education:
High School Diploma/ GED
Experience:
Over 2 years of related work experience.
Skills:
- Must have a strong mathematical ability.
- Must be able to use measuring instruments (scale, calipers etc)
- Solid computer skills (e-mail, excel, oracle) including typing skills.
- Detail- Oriented- accuracy is required to maintain low tolerance levels.
- Able to work well with figures.
- Concentrated mental and visual attention required to preform assigned work.
