The Client Animal Health department is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to aid in the sterilization and decontamination, setup and operation of equipment with involvement in the transfer of incoming and outgoing materials. Apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned work within own area. Work a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business. Demonstrate safe work habits. Comprehend and comply with all safety and company policies and procedures. Attend training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., as needed to improve job skills and product-related procedures. Read, write and comprehend information and to effectively communicate information to colleagues at various levels.
Qualifications:
- Education Minimum Requirement: High School diploma/GED – will consider recent grad. Duties: Cleaning work area including floors, walls, tables, etc.
- Wash, prepare, and sterilize glassware and equipment for use
- Assist with equipment setup and operation
- Assist in the cleaning of equipment through use of the Parts Washers and/or manual washing * Assist in the operation of autoclaves for both sterilization, and waste decontamination purposes
- Record keeping and documentation.
- Assist in training new team members
- Report all unusual, non-routine occurrences when performing tasks.
- Assist with performing non-aseptic procedures
- Assist in reviewing and developing S.O.P's
- Assist in monitoring and requisitioning laboratory supplies. Microsoft Office skills required.
- Knowledge of aseptic clean room behavior
- Previous pharmaceutical experience preferred * GMP knowledge preferred (not required)
- Basic math skills required Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate with all levels.
- Rotating 5 day 8hr shifts – M-F 10am – 6:30pm or 12pm - 8:30pm / Sat & Sun – 10am – 6:30pm.
