A Typical Day

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at On With Life, you become part of the journey each person served takes, making memories with them along the way. Our nurses play a key role in helping our persons served maintain the highest quality of life by providing direct and personalized care, supervising and mentoring Certified Nursing Assistants, and coordinating care with other members of the team. We are a unique non-traditional long term care program that cares for a variety of ages specializing in brain injury, spinal cord, and neurological conditions.

As a designated Top Workplace for over a decade, we understand the importance of work/life balance! That’s why we offer flexible schedules and shift lengths in addition to weekend-only options.

Each part-time and full-time schedule requires a holiday rotation (with special holiday pay), an every 3rd weekend rotation (if not a weekends-only schedule), as well as a weekend on-call rotation. Our PRN requirement is 16 hours per 4-week schedule, 4 of which must be on weekends. As part of completing the application, you will be asked to specify the hours you are interested in. IMPORTANT: Please note that our orientation process (typically up to 1 month) may require working days or shifts outside of your permanent schedule.

Competitive Pay and Unique Benefits? Yes Please!

Our RN positions start at $25.50/hour for minimal experience, with our most experienced staff making up to $38.25/hour base pay. We pay a 9% differential on your experienced-based base wage for all hours worked between 2pm and 10pm, and 11% for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at each annual anniversary.

• Positions regularly scheduled less than 24 hours per week: $7,000
• Positions regularly scheduled at least 24 but less than 36 hours per week: $8,500
• Positions regularly scheduled 36 or more hours per week: $10,000. This amount is bumped to $12,500 for the night shift schedule.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa
• Ability to maintain CPR certification (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)
• Please note that the federal government requires that our employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (first 2 doses) or request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption. We may not be able to proceed with employment if you cannot meet one of these requirements.
