Once Upon a Child in Kenosha, Wisconsin is actively looking for Two Key Holders/Shift Leaders to help our growing business.

Job Times:

- We are hiring for Day time Shifts (9:00am to 4:00 or 5:00pm) and/or Evening Shifts (2:00 or 4:00 pm to 9:30pm). One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) is required for employment.

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Assist in managing and promoting all aspects of the business, including buying, pricing, sales, merchandising, loss prevention, training, and supervising staff.

- Exhibit appropriate selling and buying behaviors. Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.

- Perform operational duties to run the business including opening/closing, ensuring store security, overseeing safety and assisting with escalated customer issues.

-Opening and closing responsibilities, including key control, locking store, and cash handling responsibilities, in line with business standards and procedures.

- Sales Associate Function - Checking out customers, buying inventory (new and used), tagging, hanging, etc.

- Moving of racks, bars, etc. to maximize floor space

- Organizing of product, staff work areas, etc.

- Merchandising - Ensuring that product placement is accurate to drive sales

- Become familiar with products, brands, and prices. Make product recommendations, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by helping them find additional items.

- Buy used product from the community, reinforcing the customers’ purchases and sales to the store. Invite customers to return to the store to buy, sell, or trade and promote image of the store concept

- Price and ticket items based on pricing and buying guidelines. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.

- Ability to learn and then operate computerized Point of Sale (POS).

- Ability to run the store and be in direct communication / receive and implement guidance from management.

-Ability to run consistent Shifts the same as the Manager and Assistant Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Prior retail and/or customer service experience with proven leadership skills.

-Sales and goal driven.

-Prior retail experience preferred in similar product lines, but willing to train the right candidate.

-Cash Handling Skills must be excellent.

-Ability to work well as a team member, accept constructive feedback, and follow directions.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills, communication, multi-tasking ability, and a high level of responsibility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

-Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. May involve heavier lifting with assistance of team member or cart/dolly.

-Ability to go up and downstairs and work in basement on backstock or other projects unsupervised.

-Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.

-Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise.

-Exposure to typical retail environment conditions and noise levels.

-Able to operate a computerized sales terminal.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
