Position Description:
What You Will Do
Perform work involved in the design and maintenance of corrosion control systems.
Maintain corrosion control systems on company transmission and distribution pipelines.
Participate in the installing, testing, adjusting, and repairing of rectifiers, anodes, and test points.
Assist with troubleshooting and repairing interference/foreign contact problems.
Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity surveys and other special surveys.
Assist with inspecting, calibrating, maintaining, and/or repairing cathodic protection tools and equipment.
Provide accurate, complete and timely readings and calibrations to ensure compliant documentation of test readings and cathodic protection.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Drive and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
What You Will Need
Preferred Pipeline Integrity, Cathodic Protection, or related technical degree.
Knowledge of natural gas distribution operations.
Knowledge of corrosion control procedures.
Demonstrated ability in use, function, maintenance, and repair of cathodic protection tools and equipment.
Demonstrated ability in application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Experience and/or thorough knowledge relative to:
- Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
- Construction and maintenance activities
- Locating lines
- One Call System policies and procedures
Experience in reading and interpreting maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, rectifier reports, and applicable operation and repair manuals.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Preferred Completed Corrosion Protection (CP) training course.
Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10 15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 10 15 times a day; 30-50 pounds 3-5 times a day.
Travel over uneven terrain including:
- Mud
- Gravel
- Sand
- Rocks
- Ice
- Snow
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and exchange information or instructions including use of company two way radio.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
