REPORTS TO: Revenue Cycle Manager

FUNCTION: To provide patient responsibility and benefit information to patients and provide administrative support in all aspects of the patient collections process as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for calling patients to provide patient responsibility and insurance benefit information for scheduled procedures. Also responsible to maintain a current list of insurance payer allowed amounts to estimate patient responsibility for scheduled procedures.

2. Responsible for establishing payment plan/arrangements with patients based on approved guidelines.

3. Responsible for assisting patients and staff with patient assistance programs and
keeping track of patient enrollments.

4. Communicate with doctors or other offices regarding patient balances.

5. Responsible for handling phone calls from patients or insurance carriers regarding patient responsibility or insurance benefits.

6. Assist with other aspects of the collections process as needed.

7. Work closely with Patient Accounts Manager to maintain an efficient collections process compliant with current debt collections laws.

8. Maintain strict administrative confidentiality.

9. Successfully completes all Gastro One training requirements (i.e. OSHA, HIPAA,
Safety, Compliance, etc.).

10. Perform other duties as required.

11. Capable & able to travel and perform job duties at other practice sites. Must have reliable transportation.

12. Perform all duties in a manner conducive to the policies and procedures of Gastro One.

JOB EXPOSURE DETERMINATION: Not subject to occupational exposure to blood or body fluids.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must possess typing skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, good organizational, oral and written communication skills necessary; must be able to adequately communicate with persons at all levels of the organization. Must possess knowledge and confidence of patient collections and health insurance plan benefits (including government and private payers).

JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Revenue Cycle Manager. Does not supervise any employee.
