Product Researcher

OneCare Media
Seattle, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/17/2023 CLOSED ON 7/18/2023

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Researcher position at OneCare Media?

About Us

OneCare Media is a high-growth, Seattle-based digital media company that is building the next generation of health media. Our digital brands provide best-in-class services that bridge the gap between information and action across a variety of industries, including sleep, telehealth, and at-home testing.

About the Role

OneCare Media seeks a Product Researcher to research and test various products in our portfolio. As a researcher, you'll develop a deep understanding for the products, develop new and cutting edge testing, and work across teams to report your findings.

Researchers work as architects for our content-based products - identifying trends in topics our readers care about, understanding user-intent and building product specifications for what visitors will read and use across our portfolio. This product-focused role will perform hands-on testing of products in our testing lab space, aid in developing and refining our current testing methodologies and practices, and document and organize the results of our in-house testing. You'll be acting as a product expert who bridges the gap between multiple teams, helping to up-level our product-based content and knowledge for the benefit of our readers. This role requires the ability to discuss and present the results of our product testing to in-person audiences and on-camera.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded and flexible administrator, with strong organizational and project planning skills. A scientific-leaning mind that excels at brainstorming and building methodical, product-by-product approaches to product testing is a perfect fit for this role. Prior experience working in product testing or quality assurance is preferred, though we are willing to spend time training the right candidate.

This position reports to OneCare's Creative Producer and will be based out of our Seattle office.

What You'll Do

  • Perform in-house testing of products and assist in the development of new testing methods and the identification of new testing criteria
  • Research the constructions, product specifications, and performance capabilities of new and updated products
  • Manage the data and results of our in-house testing and collaborate to develop and refine our practices
  • Act as a product expert and point of contact for product-related concerns, offering evaluations of products and testing results through video interviews, internal communications, and proprietary documentation of product information
  • Collaborate and consult with OneCare Media team members and others in the execution of video and other content projects
  • Apply a perspective of equity in developing and producing content, staying current on the evolving ways that content can support and promote diversity, inclusion and equity
  • Collaborate with and receive direction from the Creative Producer
  • Create product specifications for our production team
  • Write and deliver scripts on-camera

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 1-2 years of product testing or product review experience
  • Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative team environment as well as independently
  • An eye for detail and sense of care in working with data
  • Prior experience with public speaking/on-camera presentation is a plus, but not required
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Who We Are

  • We're a small but rapidly growing company with a driven but casual culture
  • We're able to problem-solve creatively while keeping our focus on the important aspects of the business
  • We're flexible and can roll with changes as we pursue our goals
  • We're open to new ideas while also verbalizing our own perspectives

OneCare is committed to bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and be their authentic self, feel a sense of community, and do great work together. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer open to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or expression, Veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
