What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Oneida Nation Enterprises?

  • Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve individual, team and property revenue goals.
  • Targets accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
  • Skillfully identifies and responds to leads and maximizes conversion from all lead sources.
  • Navigates large, complex event opportunities with multi-dimensional property components with unique margin drivers. Identifying the right business opportunities that support revenue optimization goals for a multi-dimensional property experience and balancing the demand of room inventory between convention sales and casino hospitality. Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop creative ideas and proposals for potential bookings.
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Understands the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc., and knows how to sell against them.
  • Establishes and executes sales strategy based on key analytics such as pace reporting and sales funnels.
  • Manages room inventory and event space via Delphi FDC Management System.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and maintaining memberships with key sales organizations.
  • Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Sales or related field preferred.
  • Experience in B2C Sales that includes all or some components of the sales process and/or upselling or cross selling. Ideal candidate would have experience hospitality setting.
  • Proven track record of delivering on goals and obtaining positive reviews.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize a variety of computer programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prior working experience with a property management system, sales software preferred. Experience with Delphi a plus!
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to create and confidently present materials that influence audience.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays to support clients as needed. Core work hours are generally weekdays between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.
  • Must be able to travel as need for client and site visits. Could be up to 30% or more per year.
  • This position may be considered for remote work. Alternate work arrangements or locations can be considered. Sales team expected on site for client visits and large events.
