What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at OneSky?

PURPOSE

As a result of continued growth, OneSky Flight has a career opportunity for a Scrum Master.  The Scrum Master is responsible for coaching and facilitating the Agile process for a group of high-performing, distributed teams.  The position includes coaching the team on Agile best practices, team cohesion, managing logistical challenges, removing impediments and helping the team to be successful overall. This position oversees highly visible projects that are key to OneSky’s success and ongoing expansion.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Facilitate daily scrums, stand-ups, and meetings to monitor project progress and resolve any issues the team may be experiencing
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Guide the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Guide the team how to get the most out of self-organization
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear
  • Communicate project risks
  • Monitor and report on key Agile performance metrics to leadership team
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Computer Science preferred) 
  • Scrum Master certification
  • Minimum of two years of experience in IT project management

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to excel in an Agile work environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience in communicating with different levels throughout an organization
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Responds well under pressure, manages stress and possesses exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to explain intricate and complicated concepts and ideas

A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Prior experience in travel or aviation industries
  • A pilot’s license or currently pursuing a pilot’s license a plus
