The Safety Technician will assist with the daily administration of the Health and Safety programs that ensure compliance with statutory requirements and promote safe and healthy working conditions. Perform assignments of reasonable complexity following the direction of the assigned manager. Supports established policies and procedures. Prepares reports, provides site inspections, supports established safety programs, and supports training and orientation.

Prepares reports, provides site inspections, supports established safety programs, and supports training and orientation.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
- Perform field permitting: Hot Work, Permit Required Confined Space Entry, Excavation etc.
- Perform field accident/incident investigation.
- Perform safety meetings / tailgate meetings.
- Perform field audits of all personal protective equipment in use in field.
- Perform atmospheric monitoring of all work areas and record results accordingly.
- Audit safety performance of all employees including all reporting forms and audit sheets.
- Supports developing, implementing, and revisiting a site-specific EHS plan (HAZOP / HAZID)
- Supports Job Safety Analysis and Site Specific Rescue Plans for each job.
- Assist Operations with Health and Safety questions/concerns.
- Acts as a resource for operations employees in general safety questions.
- Generates accident/incident reporting, root cause analysis, corrective action plan for site requirements.
- Perform safety audits on the job and evaluate results to Safety Director, Operations Manager, and Job Supervision.
- Provide daily oversight / inspection of numerous subcontractors performing construction activities.
- Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
- Must have good written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret policies, programs, and regulations.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prompt completion of tasks and assignments
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
- Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1- 3 years’ experience as a Safety Technician.
- TWIC, ARSC Basic Safety.
Preferred: - Valid state driver’s license.
- First-Aid/CPR, OSHA 10.
- HAZWOPER 24, 40.
- CSST or equivalent certification.
