Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the JCPenney Lifecycle Manager, this visible role will lead marketing efforts to increase active accounts and drive spend and trips using JCPenney credit cards. Key to the continued turnaround

and growth of the JCPenney portfolio, this position will work directly with the JCPenney client, the Synchrony client team, and across the Synchrony enterprise to determine the most effective ways to influence cardmember shopping and servicing behavior.

You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute the marketing plan to drive JCPenney credit card purchase volume and optimize cardholder engagement for the JCPenney credit card portfolio.

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with JCPenney partners as a point of contact for marketing programs and creative assets.

  • Prepare the strategy, creative and messaging for various Lifecycle campaigns, working with multiple support teams and platforms to ensure accurate, compliant and timely execution.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to promote and drive growth both inside and outside of JCPenney with the co-branded JCPenney Mastercard.

  • Support new product launches and associated customer lifecycle marketing efforts for initiatives like Pay Later.

  • Evaluate and understand the full customer journey, and pursue cost-effective marketing initiatives and campaigns that will help drive activation, trips, spend and engagement.

  • Work with subject matter experts to estimate size, develop business requirements, and schedule projects that create or enhance the customer journey.

  • Integrate product, servicing and other engagement opportunities into our Marketing efforts to improve the cardholder experience and drive loyalty.

  • Analyze and present campaign results, and continually modify strategy based on findings to ensure effectiveness of our efforts while adhering to campaign budget.

  • Provide Marketing support and leadership for key client and business initiatives, such as Upgrades, Reissues and Rebrandings.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of professional work experience in the financial services field to include:

  • 4 years of marketing experience preferably in the credit card, co-brand credit card or retail / financial services industries

  • Ability to travel (~10%)

  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing, resilience and collaboration skills

  • Experience working directly with a client partner

  • Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information

  • Proven ability to manage many tasks – Marketing, administrative, or other – each day, prioritizing and communicating appropriately

  • Experience in writing business requirements to ensure proper program design and organizational support

  • Strong Budgeting Skills

  • Strong work ethic – willingness to work collaboratively with a team, and have some fun while doing it

  • Familiarity with Workfront and Synchrony campaign execution processes.

  • 4 years of direct-to-consumer marketing experience, ideally in credit marketing

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
