Position Description:

The IOP Counselor provides direct counseling and case management services to patients, consisting of individual, and group services, including assessment, individualized treatment plans, counseling and aftercare services. The IOP Counselor will adhere to the vision and mission of the Company.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain caseload per State Regulations
  • Assures incoming patients have psychosocial assessment and a interpretive summary according to the timeline in the ARS Policies and Procedure Manual
  • Completes, with patient participation, a Preliminary Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the ARS Policies and Procedure Manual.
  • Completes a Treatment Plan Review and update for each patient after completion of the Comprehensive Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the ARS Policies and Procedure Manual
  • Prepares an aftercare transition plan for all patients at the earliest possible time and to review prior to discharge
  • Be proficient with State Licensure Standards, CARF Standards, 42 CFR and HIPAA standards and Company policies

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field
  • Have an understanding of pre-authorizations
  • CADC preferred
  • IOP experience preferred
