What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMR Specialist position at OnPoint Medical Group?
OnPoint Medical Group is looking for a EMR Specialist to join the team! This position will be located at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Travel between sites located in the South Denver area will be required.
The EMR Specialist will work with the Director of Athena to manage the Athena system for new and existing locations. The EMR Specialist provides application/customer support to OnPoint Medical Group offices onsite and remote from corporate office location. Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement and automation. Maintains positive working relationships with the OnPoint Medical Group physicians and staff who practice in the clinics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

1. Supports implementations, optimization programs, system upgrades, new-user education, and general needs of application-relevant end-users.
2. Translates the functionality of the system configuration and workflow validations into a training environment; provides presentations and prepares and manages requirements for training sessions in collaboration with the project team.
3. Manages the Athena system regarding user access permissions, communicating updates and/changes and ensuring the system is meeting the needs of the organization.
4. Works with internal and external implementation team to develop timelines and training schedules for new acquisitions.
5. Conducts audits of users to ensure the appropriate permissions are granted based on position. Terminates access when appropriate.
6. Works with compliance department to ensure the integrity of the EMR system is maintained.
7. Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting and analysis on key metrics.
8. Build, generate and analyze reports.
9. Must be able to manager multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within flexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
10. On-Call/Remote resolution activities required
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience
- Athena experience, required. Epic experience, a plus
- Integration/Practice Onboarding experience preferred
- End User Training Experience preferred
- Experience with presentations to small and large groups in classroom environments, along with one-on-one training.
- Minimum 3 years of EMR experience
- Current Driver’s License and auto insurance
- Completion of high school diploma/GED

- Demonstrate ability to be courteous and respectful when interacting with patients and family members
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

- Travel between sites and locations

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 / year
