Job Summary:
The Procurement Manager serves as a vital link supporting our operating business units in coordination with corporate finance and accounting. Applicant will be responsible for cost control and purchasing of high volumes and variety of materials, supplies and services. Processes purchase requisitions in fulfillment of supply chain needs and other procurement requirements. Ensures the timely and accurate placement of purchase orders. Manages RFQs, reviews bids, awards contracts, coordinates contracts with legal support, and business unit leaders to ensure all needs are met.
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements systems and strategies to optimize supply chain performance, control costs, increase value, and maintain required documentation.
Responsible for all purchasing activities relating to quality, cost, and schedule for the assigned business units
Effectively interact with maintenance, corporate office, and operating business units, (Travel Plazas, Hotels, Restaurants, Transportation) and other Departments as required.
Utilize and optimize various buying programs that exist through our franchise affiliations with Exxon, Sunoco, Marriott, Ambest, Burger King, etc.
Analyzes the requirements of commodities, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, alternative suppliers, and date commodity is needed.
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to evaluate best value cost conditions
Proactively engage with assigned suppliers to ensure that supplier capabilities and products meet the current and future requirements of the organization.
Initiates and directs RFQs, competitive bids, bid evaluations and purchase orders utilizing Cost Analysis methods to determine the best value to the company.
Maintains and audits records and documentation to ensure all parties are in compliance with SOP, and company policies.
Take an active role in supporting and finding new products and vendors to meet the needs of various business units
Work together with legal support in development of and implementation of supplier agreements, including Non- Disclosure Agreements, Statements of Work, Short and Long-term Agreements, and general Terms & Conditions
Resolves discrepancies that arise such as pricing, warranty claims, vendor defaults, shipping errors, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

Credentials and Experience:
MS Office Suite
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education or experience in Business, Purchasing, Operations or Material Management
3-5 years' experience in Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management role
Physical Requirements:
Walking short distances
Bending, stooping, twisting
Sitting and/or standing for short or extended periods of time
Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone
Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data
Repetitive motions for computer equipment use
Work is performed primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment
