Open pantry is looking for an Assistant Sales Leader in charge of maintaining overall store operations. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; maintaining appearance, performance, sales, profits, and monitoring team members to ensure a store that is successful.Responsibilities
Greet customers with a friendly smile and provide them with prompt, courteous service while assisting customers with any complaints or concerns within company guidelines.
Assist in resolving escalated customer complaints.
Perform suggestive selling with customers.
Accurately operate all store equipment including cash register, gasoline console, lottery equipment, etc. as well as report malfunctions to management.
Maintain knowledge of all products offered within the store as well as information regarding all sale and promotional items.
Accurately balance cash drawer at conclusion of each shift.
Quickly report any pricing discrepancies to management personnel.
Ensure adequate inventory though communicating the need for re-orders and assisting in ordering new merchandise in Store Manager’s absence.
Follow company policies in accepting and verifying all new inventory from vendors.
Assist Store Sales Leader in completing all required paperwork regarding inventory, customer counts, sales, etc.
Assist Store Sales Leader in promotion and sale item coordination to ensure that all items are appropriately labeled.
Perform loss prevention activities by monitoring suspicious activities in the store.
Ensure productivity by performing various duties including stocking, assisting with food preparation and display, and maintenance of cleanliness standards as necessary and directed by store management.
Report all accidents, maintenance issues, and customer incidents to Store Sales Leader and complete proper paperwork.
Ensure adequate inventory by communicating the need for re-orders in any area where merchandise is low or out of stock.
Maintain a log of all customers receiving gas and promptly notify officials of any gas drive-offs.
Follow all store protocol with respect to selling alcohol, cigarettes, lottery tickets, robbery prevention, food stamps, and check cashing.
Maintain efficient and effective operations in Store Sales Leader’s absence.
Assist in providing additional training to new and current store employees to ensure store protocol is followed and understood.
Background and Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 - 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions; and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
General email and Internet knowledge as well as basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Valid driver’s license required to assist in performing area surveys as required. The ability to obtain an alcohol license and food sanitation license is required.
This position also requires individuals to work varied hours of 10 hours shifts including nights and weekends.
