Our Staff Accountant reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for reporting results, creating relationships, and managing the Accounting team and processes for AutoVIN and LaneLink (an OPENLANE Brands). Within this role, you will perform various accounting research and projects as well as assisting with requests from other departments and perform all duties assigned by the Controller / Senior Accountant / Manager. You must know, practice, and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are always followed and ensure that no company or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Responsible for coordinating monthly close processes
Make recurring journal entries
Assist with accounts payable GL coding
Perform monthly P&L review and analysis
Create monthly and ad hoc reporting requests for management
Reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts
Customer invoicing
Annual budgeting
Monthly and yearly financial forecasting
Prepare all accounting schedules as requested
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate with other internal departments when needed
Complete ad hoc requests as necessary
Using knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley laws and compliance, coordinate the controls in place in corporate finance and ensure they are adhered to.
Ability to work independently and resolve problems as they arise.

Educational Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline required.
Two (2) to five (5) years experience in general accounting required.
Proficiency in Excel required.
PeopleSoft experience a plus and CPA distinction a plus
