Our client is an innovative global manufacturer headquartered in Morris County, New Jersey. In business for over 50 years, they manufacture and supply products to the packaging industry. They are seeking a Purchasing Manager with strong manufacturing parts and equipment sourcing experience. In this role you will fulfill requisition orders for materials, supplies, tools, inventory for resale and any other needed items, with additional accounts payable responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing and processing purchase requisitions, preparing purchase orders where appropriate.
- Securing the best price for all purchases without jeopardizing quality.
- Generating and submitting purchase orders in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
- Reviewing orders to determine product types and quantities required to meet demand.
- Approving invoices for payment within the company’s ERP as required.
- Expediting delivery of goods as required.
- Maintaining records of business transactions, availability and price changes, and product inventories, to include forecasting required inventory levels in coordination with plant managers, sales, and accounting department.
- Confirming all orders and their subsequent delivery, such as reconciling the shipments, manifests, short and back-orders and damaged items received.
- Maintaining procurement records in the Company’s ERP, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discussing defective or unacceptable goods or services with management, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Obtaining product or service information from multiple suppliers, as appropriate, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Estimate values according to knowledge of market price and determine best value.
- Assisting in preparation of budget.
- Special projects as required.
- Other purchasing /accounts payable functions as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- At least three years of experience in a related field required.
- High degree of negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and all levels of the company.
- Proven time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and operate with a strong sense of urgency.
The compensation range is $75- 85k annually. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including skills and experience.
