InternReports To: CFODate Posted: N/AEducation Required: Bachelor’sPosting Expires: N/AExperience RequiredJOB PURPOSE: The Director of IT for Opiant Pharmaceuticals will oversee and manage the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. The primary goal of the Director of IT is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
- Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
- Control budget and report on expenditure
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
- Define the IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
- Own all IT functions, including the following: Netsuite, ITSM, AV, MDM, SSO, SaaS applications, etc.
- Manage project deliverables and responsibilities, vendor selection, contract negotiation, budgets, and be the subject matter expert on company IT services and applications.
- Ensure that IT projects are delivered on time and within scope by working closely with stakeholders and developing detailed project plans to track progress.
- Monitor and maintain systems, configure hardware and software for our teams and own technical support.
- Oversee responsibilities of the helpdesk and manage team of Helpdesk Administrators.
- Oversee IT operations.
- Hire a team of IT staff, if appropriate.
- Design and implement IT strategies and infrastructure.
- Identify and eliminate security risks.
- Analyze business requirements for IT needs and systems.
- Evaluate IT operations regarding established goals.
- Communicate within the IT team and across departments as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: To be a successful Director of IT, this individual should demonstrate the following requirements:
- Proven experience as IT director or similar role
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
- Have the drive to succeed
- Excellent written and verbal and computer literacy skills
- Strong leadership and teamworking abilities
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary virtual team environment.
- Ability to work in a virtual setting/across time-zones, i.e., making effective use of communication tools (Zoom, telephone and video conferencing, etc.)
- Ability to work in a highly complex, multi-cultural, environment
- Must be willing to travel to the UK.
EDUCATION:
- This role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer science and at least 5 to 8 years’ experience.
- Experience in higher level computer languages is a plus.
- Working knowledge of at least half of the following areas is required: windows desktop operating system, windows servers, firewall,

Pay: $180,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
