Job Scope
The MPD Supervisors are required to supervise field installation and operation of Managed Pressure Drilling jobs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to operate Opla Energy’s proprietary Software.
- Fill out and submit all required documentation including safety meetings, daily tickets, JHA’s and permits.
- Identify and handle kicks and various other drilling scenarios.
- Ensure Equipment is kept clean and functional, inspect for wear and perform maintenance as required.
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
- Utilizes and abides by safety procedures.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- At least 3 years of direct MPD experience. Knowledge in the following areas: MPD processes, equipment capabilities, and downhole knowledge.
- 5 years of direct MPD experience preferred but not required. Knowledge in the following areas: MPD processes, equipment capabilities, and downhole knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Pre-employment Testing (Drug, alcohol and fitness).
- Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills.
- Must live in the US as this is a US-based position.
Competencies
- Must be able to walk and stand throughout a 12-hour day.
- Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique.
- Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts. Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination. Must demonstrate good manual dexterity.
- Must be able to read, evaluate and respond to well plans, drilling procedures, displacement schedules and perform normal math calculations easily.
- Must be familiar and comfortable with various types of machinery. Must have strong general mechanical skills.
- Willingness to learn and ability to work well within a collaborative team.
