Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the Flood and HMDA Review teams. Provide leadership, support and coaching for team members.
- Assist and train team to ensure regulatory compliance and bank policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Review all compliance documentation exceptions for trends to ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to.
- Partner with lines of business to identify and/or develop initiatives to promote efficiencies and/or stronger control environments across business lines.
- Ability to analyze compliance data in preparation of the quarterly compliance report for the banks Corporate Compliance Committee
- Completes various regulatory compliance reviews and monitoring in accordance with the established department standards and within allotted time frames
- Development and upkeep of monthly dashboards for compliance.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements
- Work collaboratively with the banks Corporate Compliance Department and TowneBank Mortgage Division.
- Manage and work collaboratively with the bank’s audit teams on audit findings and provides timely responses.
- Maintains a current knowledge of applicable consumer protection laws and regulations, business operations and internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Manage and document Corrective Actions that may occur and report to the banks Corporate Compliance Division.
- Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules and regulations and requirements relating to Anti Money Laundering (AML include the Bank Secrecy Act – BSA)
- Willing to work on various projects that may be assigned
Required Skills or Competencies:
- Three to five years of experience in bank or mortgage lending involving compliance
- Experience with consumer and commercial compliance loan documentation
- Requires strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a track record of completing work in a timely and organized fashion.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Possess good training qualities
- Management experience
- High School graduate or equivalent or compensating work experience in a financial institution
Desired Skills or Competencies:
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of loan compliance regulations
- Degree in Business Administration or Compliance Certification
- Experience with mortgage, consumer and commercial loan documentation
- Knowledgeable with various banking systems
