The Parenting Program Facilitator is responsible for providing structured activities to children of families who are struggling with substance use disorders. Working with the children on productive activities while their parents and/or guardians receive the help needed to stay on the path to sobriety. This is a part-time position and candidates must have flexibility in their schedule.

Essential Functions:
  • Participate in the training/planning program prior to the start of the structured activity time
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of appropriate curriculum for referred children and works interactively with parents and children
  • Responsible for room preparation before and clean-up after each session
  • Presents handouts and supplies needed for each session
  • Presents activities and ensures smooth flow of activities
  • Flexibility in preparation and presentation is required to meet unexpected situations as they arise
  • Maintains progress records on the participation and attitude for targeted members as required
  • Complete billing sheets accurately for time spent on program activities per grant requirements
  • Develop a supportive and nurturing environment and build strong rapport with parents & children
  • Demonstrate an excellent grasp of appropriate parenting techniques and childhood interaction
  • Attends required team meetings and court hearings as requested
 
Performance Requirements:
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technology
  • Must be able to exchange information with clients and/or families in various settings regarding treatment plans and performance of client
  • Driving may also include transportation of clients
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly positions self to an equal level in order to work with children of all ages
  • Must be able to drive frequently due to work varying work environments including agency office, school based, and/or assigned community based locations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree in social work or related field preferred.
Valid Ohio Driver’s license, proof of auto insurance required, and safe driving record required.
