Position Summary
The Opti-Luxx Human Resources Specialist is an energetic, engaging individual who is responsible for the daily human resources activities including: sourcing and interviewing, employee engagement and retention, administering benefits, onboarding and exit, leave/PTO management, employee relations, and enforcing company practices and policies.
The main Opti-Luxx facility is located in Hudsonville, Michigan. We also operate a second facility in Grand Prairie, Texas and have a remote regional sales manager located in New York State.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the HR and talent strategy including recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provide support to supervisors, management, and staff when sensitive situations arise (i.e., reasonable accommodation, allegations or wrongdoing, discipline, termination, and interpersonal issues.)
- Manage talent acquisition process and relationships with temporary services and hiring agencies.
- Create and promote employee engagement, learning and development programs.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and workplace safety laws and regulations.
- Coordinate employee communications, including postings, display monitors content.
- Coordinate employee performance appraisal process, performance improvements, and compensation changes.
- Manage unemployment and disability claims.
- Administer benefit enrollments and renewals, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
- Manage employee onboarding process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Able to maintain confidentiality and appropriate discretion with regards to personnel issues.
- Professional communication skills in English across written, verbal, and electronic (email) mediums.

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field – or – equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of human resource experience.
- SHRM or similar human resources certifications desirable.
- Experience with manufacturing or similar operation with a mixture of hourly and salaried employees and experience with a company having multiple locations and jurisdictions a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
