The Human Capital department is seeking a HR Generalist to join their team full time to work onsite in an office setting in Everett, WA. Telework is available as needed.

The HR Generalist functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for a variety of functions including consulting as a resource for benefits information/tools, recruiting processes, hiring/onboarding new employees, training, coaching and advising, applying policies and procedures, and administering various human resources programs.
The HR Generalist is responsible for and not limited to:
In collaboration with HC Business Partners, this position functions as first point of contact for teammate/manager inquiries and employee relations intake assessment.
Consults and advises on a diverse range of topics, including benefits and leave of absence tools/processes, compensation, recruiting, training/development resources, and offboarding.
Provides guidance and expertise to business leadership, management staff, physicians and employees on employment practices, interpretation of legislation, laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to employment, compensation, employment records, investigations and finalization of allegations and complaints. Recommends appropriate and timely actions.
Demonstrates and applies a basic understanding of leave of absence and ADA principles in consulting with managers and employees on related topics. Utilizes shared services experts and tools as appropriate.
Ensures consistency of policy/program interpretation & implementation.
Displays a curiosity and understanding of business structures, functions and priorities. Leverages data and reporting to build acumen.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems and works as an active team member in carrying out those goals.
Attends continuing education programs as needed to maintain or gain knowledge in various areas of human resources.
May be responsible for other HR related activities such as participating in functional committees (safety, etc.), planning events, training, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job.
Knowledge: Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems. Knowledge of the recruitment/staffing process. Requires knowledge in local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to generate correspondence and type from draft copy required. Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations and make changes accurately.
Skills: Requires independent judgment. Possesses broad based software skills. Skill in computer systems and applications required. Skill in verbal and written communication required. Skill in gathering and reporting information. Requires typing skill of 60 wpm, and proper telephone etiquette.
Abilities: Communicates directly and effectively across a broad range of audiences and topics.
Ability to review and edit reports and correspondence required. Requires ability to work independently, establish priorities, and coordinate several activities at one time. Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving and decision-making required. Requires ability to work effectively with staff, patients, public and outside agencies.
Preferred Experience and Credentials:
Education: High School Diploma or GED with post secondary Human Resources course work preferred or degree from an accredited college in human resources or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a human resources office, including experience with the recruitment process. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and large-scale HR information system. One year minimum training/presentation experience.
Certificate/License: HRCI Certification as PHR or SPHR, or SHRM Certification as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
