The Project Manager will take responsibility for managing medium to large customer projects from project definition thru administrative closure and transition to operational Support. The Project Manager will monitor the progress of the project activities, provide a primary continuous point of contact to the customer, and manage internal and external project teams in the successful execution of project activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning for Medium to Large Sites/Site with High Complexity
  • Scope and Change Management; schedule Management; budget Management; communication Management; risk Management; Procurement Management
  • Implementation Team Coordination; technical Engineer Team Coordination; customer Issue Tracking and Resolution
  • Charter / Statement of Work Creation; status Reports; time tracking; cross Departmental Coordination
  • Develop and drive standardization roadmap providing reporting and updates to operations teams and executive leadership
  • Recommend solutions to Customer issues
  • Recommend courses of action to resolve project issues
  • Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
  • Identify project duration, effort, sequence and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
  • Drive/participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g. presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)
  • Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Develop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies
  • May lead functional or segment teams or projects and serve as a leader/ mentor by reviewing work performed by others and provide recommendation for improvement


This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively lead project teams and build relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping the team on track within the project scope and timeline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 4 years of project management in IT and/or Healthcare
  • Experience leading and/or coaching a team
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience managing Projects of medium to large scope
  • Experience managing project Teams
  • Experience with IT System Integration
  • Cloud experience
  • Knowledge of Radiology and Cardiology/Imaging

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
