What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dorm Receptionist position at Oral Roberts University?
This position serves as security personnel helping to ensure the safety of on-campus students and is the first point of entry into Residence Hall. Will screen and register all visitors entering the dorm and facilitate their escort to the student's room. Will be responsible for manning the desk at all times. This position is ideal for individuals who are courteous, patient and willing to be a resource to our student community and visitors.
Hours: 11 PM-7AM.
DUTIES
- Observes all people entering dorm.
- Ensures each visitor registers/signs-in.
- Ensures the name of guest and the name and room number of the student being visited for guest log.
- Answers telephones.
- Records all messages for students.
- Contacts the Dorm Director in case of emergencies.
- Maintains written documentation of all incidents.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Requires a high school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Prefer 3 - 6 months clerical or customer service experience.
- Must have a stable work background and be detail oriented.
- Requires good oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Requires the ability to follow instructions and established procedures, and make sound judgments.
- Must be able to maintain composure during times of emergency and be aware of emergency procedures. Requires the ability to work in a high paced environment with high customer/client contact.
Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its' procedures. Must adhere to the Code of Honor Pledge for Oral Roberts University.
