What are the responsibilities and job description for the JDE Developer position at ORBCOMM?
About the Opportunity:
- Interact with Technical and Functional SME’s to design, develop, code, and test new JDE software solutions/orchestrations, according to best practices and customer requirements.
- Provide maintenance and support for existing customized applications and integrations, performing modifications as requested.
- Document all modifications and custom code thoroughly, adhering to proper guidelines.
- Respond to support development requests via our Help Desk and email.
- Troubleshoot/debug application issues as required. Examples: Event rule errors, incorrect behavior of native or custom applications, excessive processing time, interface issues.
- Update tickets with thorough notes and timely communication.
- Conduct calls / web meetings as needed with key stakeholders.
- Review requirements, perform analysis/design and create estimates of effort for tasks, projects and proposals.
Qualifications:
This position requires a solid mix of JD Edwards development experience, along with creativity and communication abilities, to provide support to multiple departments. Relationship building and customer service skills are essential. You will work on several tasks throughout the work week, and coordinate with Application Support team members to serve customers effectively. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal direction, as well as in collaboration with team members.

- Orchestrator
- Table and Business View Design
- Interactive Applications
- Report Design Aid (RDA)
- Business Functions using C & NER
- Table Conversions
- BI Publisher
- Workflow & Distribution Lists
- Strong Debugging skills
In addition to the specific skills listed above, experience with any of the following items would be a plus:
- AIS/ Business Services (BSSV)
- Knowledge of Database and SQL Queries
- Mobile Application
- Flat/fixed length file output
- XML
- Any third party application support or development experience
- Any functional/application or CNC experience
