What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Account Manager position at ORBCOMM?
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is the primary representative of the company after a sale has been completed and the account has been onboarded. The SAM involvement will begin early in the sales process to provide the customer the smoothest onboarding experience possible. This individual will continue to be responsible for the client-specific customer needs, the goal being Complete Customer Satisfaction. This will be achieved by:
- Ensuring the customer is using all our products’ features to maximize their ROI
- Establishing processes to execute the contract
- Removing risk factors for renewal
- Identifying additional opportunities for the sales team
- Becoming the client’s most trusted advisor with the goal of complete customer satisfaction
- Bringing in additional departments assistance as needed
Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for owning the relationship with existing customers while ensuring the continued satisfaction of their needs.
- Establish and maintain a relationship with key personnel within your clients through multiple channels of communication.
- Critical problem solving and ability to deliver information in a professional manner.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to customers and partners, both internally and externally.
- Coach the customer on how to become an ORBCOMM solution expert – empowering them towards being self-sufficient.
- Monitor and analyze customer data to identify trends and insights.
- See to the functionality of the equipment via customer feedback and repair requests
- Track and report the effectiveness of customer satisfaction related to equipment maintenance and repair.
- Communicate with appropriate departments and responsible personnel to ensure all tasks are assigned and completed to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Track and report the progress of the company-client relationship and the level of Customer Satisfaction.
- Promote upgrades and other company products to the client.
- Identify and pursue additional opportunities within existing accounts.
- Schedule and present regular business reviews with clients.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be capable of working on multiple projects concurrently with minimum supervision
- 5 years relevant work experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
- Experience in the areas of truck transportation or internet of things preferred
- Capable of making detailed presentation to large groups of people.
Education / Training:
- College degree in Business, Finance or Operations Preferred
- Project Management certifications preferred
- Proven record of accomplishment regarding Safety, Training Program/Project management
- Valid drivers license
- No DWI / DUI, Reckless driving or chargeable accidents in last 5 years
- Experience in the training of new clients / customers
Plusses:
- Strategic account management experience
- Understanding of Profit & Loss statements and Return on Investment calculations
- Sensitivity to the needs of adult learners
- Any certification in Training Courses.
Work Environment / Travel:
- Capable of performing consistently at high levels of activity
- Will be required to work in excess of 40 hours weekly
- Travel will be required approximately 60% of the time
- Position requires the ability to respond to rapidly shifting priorities and responsibilities.
- This position can be based out of Boca Raton, FL.
