What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Sales Training Manager position at Orchard?
About the Role
Orchard is looking for a Mortgage Sales Training Manager to manage the development and growth of our mortgage sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive sales training program, including training materials and methodologies, continuing training and education cadences, as well as owning the overall sales training ecosystem. In addition, you will take a data driven approach to evaluating sales team performance and will utilize coaching language and methodologies in line with Orchard's overall approach to individual team member development. The ideal candidate will have a background in training/coaching high performing salespeople, specifically in the mortgage industry, and will be a hands-on team member that can both produce training materials as well as train and lead individual team members.
This is a full time role that will report into the Head of Mortgage Sales Operations with the option to be remote.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Develop a comprehensive new-hire training program that gives new Home Loan Officers (HLOs) and Loan Consultants (LCs) a strong foundation for success in their careers at Orchard.
- Perform a needs assessment - evaluate all existing training materials currently used and update/amend them as needed.
- Work closely with the sales operations team and sales leadership to evaluate data on performance, conversion, strengths and weaknesses, and overall performance of the individual sales team members. Develop targeted training to address any deficiencies with the goal of increasing the productivity of both the individual and the team as a whole.
- Provide input and feedback to the sales operations team on reporting, dashboards, and any/all other tools needed to effectively monitor and track the performance of the sales team.
- Message any product changes out to the various sales teams to keep them informed and up to date with the most current product suite.
- Develop an ongoing training program to refresh skills, introduce new concepts and materials, and generally ensure that the sales team is informed and performing optimally at all times.
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:
- 3 years of experience as a mortgage sales trainer/coach
- 3 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer
- Proven ability to develop talent and increase sales team effectiveness
- Ability to drive results and achieve metrics based goals (i.e. measurable increases in sales team conversion)
- Systems level thinker with the ability to create processes that empower our HLOs and LCs to serve the customer
- An educator’s mindset towards training and building out the best in our mortgage sales team
- Ability to prioritize what to improve first and what to phase for later
- Strong customer focus
- A team player with the ability to take responsibility to drive things forward even when others may not
