Role Summary

As a Visual Designer you will have a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of Visual Design systems of complicated technical applications that both communicate information effectively and are desirable to use. You will be a key participant in developing a compelling branded visual design.

As a UI/UX designer you will have a solid understanding of complex end-user behaviors, processes and expectations, and the unique ability to convert that understanding into actionable UX designs.

Overall, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners - continually advocating for our users and delivering expertly crafted user experiences to market.

You will play a key role in both building the UX discipline @ Ordr and continually improving and enhancing the functionality and Visual Design of the Ordr Systems Control Engine, the industry’s leading device control, regulation and protection platform.

In addition to “shipping” Visual Design features, you’ll help define overall product vision of the product and, as your expertise grows, you will increasingly be given ownership over major areas of investment and the autonomy to drive design innovation.

Responsibilities

As UI UX Designer you will:
  • Work closely with customers to determine their short and long term objectives.
  • Participate with the Product team in the creation of Product/UX Roadmaps.
  • Translate near term product requirements into UI/UX Concepts.
  • Create supporting User Stories, Journeys, and Prototypes.
  • Apply visual design standards to UI.
  • Deliver the design vision through the Production and Process Management.
  • Contribute to UX Pattern Library development.
  • Contribute to the Development of the UX Discipline.

As a Cross Team Collaborator, you will:
  • Communicate with cross-disciplinary teams inside and across studio(s) through all stages of design and development.
  • Own communication for what one is doing in a proactive way.
  • Ensure consistent and full understanding across all stakeholders of the UX vision and design requirements.

As a UX Researcher you will:
  • Work closely with the product team to identify workflow-oriented research.
  • Help define and refine user personas.
  • Plan and conduct interviews, user surveys, card sorting and usability tests.
  • Present and communicate insights to help shape long-term product strategy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., user experience, HCI, graphic) or equivalent professional experience
  • 3 years of experience in Research and UX Design
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Zeplin and OmniGraffle)
  • Experience effectively collaborating with fast paced cross functional team (PM, Dev, User Research, Data Science, etc.) to deliver well crafted, innovative user experiences.
  • Ability to directly interface with Ordr customers.
  • Demonstrated passion for detailed craftsmanship in all phases of product development, and ability to set your team’s quality bar with accurate diagrams, wireframes, and other design artifacts
  • Ability to deliver success through moments of ambiguity. Can help team make progress even when communication slows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present your work to peers across disciplines
  • Experience producing functional prototypes, motion studies, and interface models.
  • Understanding of design systems, and experience leveraging, and contributing to, design systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both the users and software that is focused on the management of IT and/or Security Operations.

Portfolio

A portfolio review presentation is required to interview for this role. Your presentation should cover design solution(s), your creative leadership, and the application of a user-centered design process; as well as showcase your skills as a Visual Designer

Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000. Our job titles span more than one career level. Actual base pay is dependent upon many factors including but not limited to training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and location.
