This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Training Specialist position for the Office for Sponsored Research and Award Administration (OSRAA) resides within the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Office for Sponsored Research and Award Administration (OSRAA) resides within the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI). Its mission is to provide research administration leadership for all campus colleges, units, and research centers, achieved through full sponsored project lifecycle support for proposal submission, award negotiation and acceptance, research costing and analysis, award management, financial management and closeout of awards that support the research goals of Oregon State University’s strategic plan: Prosperity Widely Shared.
The Research Administration Training Coordinator is a member of the team responsible for developing and managing a university-wide, comprehensive training program addressing all aspects of sponsored project management for faculty and staff engaged in externally funded research and other sponsored activity.
This role participates in the development and maintenance of educational and process documentation that serves DRI staff, OSU research administrators and principal investigators, including ongoing analysis of training and documentation needs specific to the field of research administration, developing curriculum and content in collaboration with subject matter experts and utilizing a variety of methods and modalities for content delivery. Topics in research administration content development may include administrative and compliance matters, general industry knowledge, and utilization of system applications, such as electronic research administration (eRA), OSU business systems, and grants management software.

What We Require
Three years of experience as a trainer which included responsibility for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating training needs in an organization; AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or Human Resources (Personnel) Management; or three more years of pertinent experience.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
