What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Total Rewards (Compensation) position at orientalbank?
Provides analytical support for the administration of compensation programs, position evaluations, salary recommendations, and other projects. Participates in compensation surveys, support job descriptions, and analyses market data reports for management review. Together with Manager, Total Reward support the variable compensation plans. Assists in the preparation of merit budget process and develops/updates salary ranges. Position works hybrid based on San Juan, PR. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze and recommend compensation inquiries including but not limited to promotional, new hires or counteroffers. Ensure that recommendations area aligned with compensation programs and internal relativity. Evaluate and recommend new jobs descriptions and job valuation to ensure alignment to local & federal law regarding FLSA and internal relativity. Recommends the proper grades for new or revised jobs considering the market salary and the internal relativity for those jobs. Participate in compensation surveys local and of other territories such as USVI & USA or special compensation studies for purposes of maintaining the company’s competitive position within the marketplace. This may require data collection, analysis, and feedback on result. Collaborates with Human Resources Business in development of organizational structure and compensation impact. Support annual budget and employee compensation planning activities, including the merit review cycle, bonus payout & special adjustments. Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and measurement of variable compensation/ incentive plans & policies (mortgage commissions, incentives, etc). Participate in project related to Total Rewards as requested. Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field required. Three (3) years of experience working in Human Resources, or Finance field with two (2) years of direct compensation related responsibilities. Experience in the banking industry or HR consulting services highly desirable. Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Fully bilingual - English and Spanish (written and verbal). Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PP) and other business aplications required. Knowledge in Workday highly desirable. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Analytical skills to evaluate data and make recommendation. Able to work with high degree of sensitive data and confidentiality.
